Because He is leading the way.... we go

Eduardo and I have all the items ready for the ministry and this weekend will be spending most of our time packing this is exciting! Lorrie and Kathy are stopping by later to lend us two more bags to pack all the material donated to the ministry by friends and supporters. In regards to our blog, want to thank Jamie for bringing to my attention the issue of not having a subscribe button. This issue has been fixed and now our followers can sign up and receive email notifications. Thank you Jamie!

To all our supporters and prayer partners, thanks much for trusting us and helping us to go and serve others. You have no idea how much I appreciate all your words of encouragement and prayers. Here we are TRUSTING HIM in everything HE'S PREPARING for us in Tactic. I am far from perfect but want to be obedient and go wherever He leads me. This is not easy but my trust is on Him not on my own strength. He is my shield and my strength and He alone is guiding all of us to go and serve as one body... His Body. So here we go….

Hey Mom! I am alive! So far, our trip to Guatemala has been incredibly beautiful and humbling. After a long night spent sleeping in the airport, I have become a professional at sleeping on planes and bumpy car rides (there are no speed limits).  I am so blessed that the people of Tactic have welcomed us so warmly into their community. It is still early in our trip, but we have had two days of work in the clinic. We have also done several home visits, school visits, and church visits. Our team went shopping in the local market. We also went hiking in a sink hole, and my clumsy self managed not to fall. Also, Dad would be proud that our interpreters are helping me with my Spanish. My Spanglish is muy bien! I am excited for the adventures to come. I am thankful for God's provision. With all my love, Kayla.

"Flexibilidad"

One of the first Spanish words you learn on a missions trip is "flexibilidad" (flexibility)... this trip is no exception! Due to weather conditions and the fact that the Guatemala City airport closes at 11pm, our plane isn't able to leave tonight. We will see what the plan is once we get off the plane (been waiting patiently since about 6:15 to take off). Always an adventure!

Heyy, we're alive! And very much off the grid. I won't repeat too much of what Kayla said since she explained what we have been up to the last few days but I did want to mention that this morning we had the opportunity to go to two of the schools that Impact Ministries runs in the Tactic area. At the first school we participated in morning devotions with the elementary school kids, who were very loud and enthusiastic about praising the Lord in song!! Then we went to another school where we got to meet one class of 10 students and their teacher. We played some games with them and shared chocolate-covered fruit as snacks. It was a blast to play with these kids and see their excitement about our visit. I love how excited they are to come up and give us hugs, smile at us, ask us questions even when we can't understand them, giggle with us, and take our hands and make up games to play. We had lots of fun and are now going to be working in the clinic for the afternoon. Thanks ...
